A film about machines arriving on earth to attack the world, War Of The Worlds 2025 is so incredibly bad that it’s literally laughable. I will admit, I gave into peer pressure here. I keep hearing rumblings about how bad this movie is, so I had to see for myself. Well, I’m here to tell…
A dynamic superhero movie, The Fantastic Four: First Steps is like The Jetsons meets comic books, even if the CGI baby misses the mark. I have never watched a Fantastic Four movie before. They were never really on my radar, and since my son is an encyclopedia of comics and lore, I never felt like…
A fantastic new superhero film, Superman shows the goodness of the man just as clearly as the epic action sequences and exciting characters. There is a lot of heart here! When I first saw the trailer for the new Superman movie, I was not impressed. My son and I exchanged “yikes” looks and I recall…
With staggeringly beautiful cinematography and heightened filming techniques, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is a movie that you can’t compare to any other. It’s truly unique and you have to watch it. I have an admission to make: I have never watched the original three Mad Max films. I may get to them one day,…
A silly and raunchy comedy, Hot Tub Time Machine is reminiscent of 80s films in all of the expected ways. Not great cinema, but not terrible either. I have thought a lot about parenting in the 80s. There are movies that we all watched as kids that no one realized we shouldn’t have been watching….
A great new film with one banger song after the next, KPop Demon Hunters is the animated movie that you never knew you needed in your life. It is so much fun, believe me, you need it. It is remarkable what studios can do with animation these days. I remember waking up on Saturday mornings…
A romantic drama about the daily lives of several vampires living today, Only Lovers Left Alive has an excellent cast and a dreamlike quality. Very enjoyable. When I was younger, I was terrified of vampires. I am an extremely visual person, so seeing just the wrong clip of a visual will have me looking at…
Full of hidden depths and incredible visuals, First Reformed is not what you think it will be before pressing play. With excellent performances and intense themes, this one is a thinker. There are some movies that you get to the end of and you feel like you need to watch again. The first viewing brings…
A movie that slipped through my fingers as a child, Big Trouble In Little China is an 80s comedy with moments of great humor and lots of stereotyping played for fun. Some of it has not aged well, but it is fast-paced and entertaining. As a cinephile, there are a lot of movies in my…
A tense post-apocalyptic thriller, 40 Acres grabs hold of you and doesn’t let go. It makes you ask the question, when there’s very few people left, is there anyone you can trust? There have been a lot of films written about the “end of society,” but in my opinion, only a few have it pretty…
Amazingly gorgeous to look at, The Life Of Chuck has a great cast and an interesting story to tell – it just lacks the connection you may be looking for. When you think of Stephen King books, there are two routes that you can go down – horror and story. While some people may love everything…
A visually stunning and incredibly funny Marvel movie, Thunderbolts* has hidden depth and explores psychological aspects not seen in previous films. Definitely worth a watch! As MCU and DC movies go, things have been getting kind of tiring. There are so many superhero vehicles out there that they all start to look the same. I…
