War Of The Worlds Movie Review (2025)
A film about machines arriving on earth to attack the world, War Of The Worlds 2025 is so incredibly bad that it’s literally laughable.
I will admit, I gave into peer pressure here. I keep hearing rumblings about how bad this movie is, so I had to see for myself. Well, I’m here to tell you, those rumblings need to start being shouted from rooftops.
War Of The Worlds is about a man government security guy who has full access to all drones and surveillance satellites. He spends his time spying on threats as well as each of his children. He has SERIOUS boundary issues. When a bunch of rock-like boulders start shooting down to earth, the entire globe is in trouble.
I don’t even know where to start with this because it is SO BAD. I laughed out loud at least half a dozen times because it is so incredibly ridiculous. This is a science fiction/thriller, not a comedy.
I would be shocked if Ice Cube worked for more than two days to record his part (which is in a single room, never interacting with anyone in person). The same goes for every other person you see on screen (including a NASA Dr. Eva Longoria), who only communicate with each other by video. My favorites of his lines are, “Not on my watch,” “Touch down!,” “How you like me now?,” and “Boom!” I am not sure why, but he also really enjoys talking to himself out loud.
All of the effects look like they are from a video game or stock footage. There is nothing else to say about that.
My favorite laugh involved Ice Cube’s character sending his daughter’s boyfriend out into certain death to go find her AND having the boyfriend arrive just fine. With the rest of the world being murdered and all of the hospitals full (in minutes, mind you), that is an impressive boyfriend.
I am not going to waste any more time on this movie, but I highly suggest you skip it. Unless you want to see something so ludicrous that it’ll give you a good laugh – then this is your best bet.
